The abstracts illustrated on these pages are extracts from a variety of paintings I sold at my degree show. I extended my watercolour talents by using an invented technique using PVA and inks on fabrics such as silk, faux leather and velvet. The degree show paintings of liberated, dynamic female nudes completely sold out.

The sketches were developed from portrait studies using a very specific charcoal technique derived from classical Italian drawing teachings from Florence. The chiaroscuro effect evolves as a result of built-up charcoal layers being erased, using finger-tips, tissue or 'stubbies' only.
